蜜(MI) TIME by MY WEEKEND PLAN WORKSHOP & RETAIL

A multifunctional space that works as a retail shop and a workshop.

A baking workshop, a place where a small group of people meet and learn new skills especially enhance their techniques and skill in baking. Explore and work on their hobbies and having a better life. With the right skills in the workforce, firms can be more productive and people can start up their own business

A retail shop where people can sell their own product and get extra income.

蜜(MI) TIME is the concept for this project. 蜜 is a Chinese word which shares the same pronunciation with the word “ME”. It mean sweet and honey in Chinese.蜜(MI)-TIME mean having your own sweet time with the bakery.

The expressive element for this concept is honeycomb. Honeycomb in bakery parlance, when you slice a loaf of bread and you see that kind of whirl pattern of air bubbles – bakers call that the honeycomb. Honey comes from the honeycomb. It is a symbol of sweetness, delight, life sweetness. It also symbol of hard work; it will remind you of your hard work.

Registration Area

The reception area is the first place that decides whether the people want to come back again or not. Rounded furniture and element was chosen to apply on the wall and ceiling as to be friendly and invited to the user. Pendent light creates a sense of playfulness.

Workshop 1 & 2

The workshop area is meant for the user to have their baking classes. It also acts as an area that allows users to have fun and sweet time there. It was surrounded by the window which allows natural light to come in and the light under the drop-down ceiling light up the whole place. It is easy for the user to work on their things. A transparent color glass wall as a divider of the space is provided in the middle of the workshop area. This allows a better vision for both room instant of a solid wall and it also can increase the sense of playfulness. The curve and round shape element was chosen to apply on the wall and furniture.

Drive-thru lane

Users who are in the drive-thru lane can enjoy their journey of buying bread. Along with the drive-thru lane, users can look inside the workshop, and at the same time user also can look inside the retail shop. User can observe how baker make the bread and there are different kind of bread display at the window along the drive-thru lane. Curvilinear element is applied along the lane. For example, the light, window, and some wall texture. This can increase the curiously of users with the workshop and the desire of buying more bread.

Pantry

Pantry is provided for the lecture and worker to have a rest there. The round mirror is chosen to be installed on the ceiling so the space can look bigger. There is a pendant lighting installed on the ceiling as well and it makes the place look more playfulness.
